Ok finally off DOTA, and feeling bored. so ill finally post about LDC. I kinda regret pushing this so back. coz alot of things cant be remembered as vividly, but o well, at least i post. okay.. lets start with the first day.DAY 1: Well most of us arrived, with the exception of the usual ponners Gordon, Yugaraj, and many of the other half-quit people. So all of us were in Full Uni. We had Pasar Malam, which was quite irritating considering we had to remove andpack in our stuff continuously. quite sian. well finally we managed to get our act together and we made it la. then we were led to the green level classrooms, where many had the assumption would be our sleeping quarters. but NO. it was just for our uniforms. quite useful I must add, my full u smelt great on the 4th day. Then we had dril. argh la. but then it was just drill .extra hot. i seemed to be sweating puddles instead of Stan. We were all so relieved when it was finally lunch. SAC Food. And it tasted quite good. (THE FOOD IC FOR THE CAMP IS GREAT) We changed into something more comfortable and then headed for Mr Loke's leadership lecture. which was quite okay. at least in Air Con and quite fun. After that we pitched and struck our dome tents continuously (as usual). I dont remember much after that. just the show parade. where we brought uniform parts and we were forced to run up and down. O yes. Beng Teong. ultimate slacker. his sandals got muddy during tent pitching. then he put them in his locker for his parents to take home. so he wore slippers. which broke during the run up and down. so he went home. reason? No Shoes. Well we had worship. then after that we had supper, i love the milos... mmmm... then we went to bathe and then went to sleep in our dome tents. my tent was very suay considering just in front of us was a mud hole. so yeah we had to stretch over. so. ben liau went home also coz he was sick. understandable. gordon ponned. DUH. david was still in malaysia, would be joining us the next day. so in our tent only had me, shane and kenneth. So during the officers check, mr sim sent justin (my supposed half brother) over so that the other tent would be less sqaushed. it was rather late at around 12. considering jie rong couldnt shut up. everyone was like SHUT UP JIE RONG. but then a loud argument took place in stead. haha. Our mosquito net thanks to some champion knot tied by soemone. so in the end no choice but to cut the string to zip up the net. apparnetly Shane got bitten. so he was sent to the Admin Room for checking. Me and justin waited for him to come back then went back to sleep. not really for me considering i couldnt sleep.DAY 2: i still couldnt sleep.so i woke everyone up at 6am. then we went to freshen up. had QT. then breakfast. then we went to church. nothing interesting. then we got ready for hike. quite fun. let me recall wad happened. O david joined us btw. Beng Teong did too. So our group consisted of me, Primer Kenneth, Primer Amanda, (primanda) Primer Tessa, Kenneth, Shane, David, Russell, BT. We were sent to this ulu place in Lim Chu Kang (LCK). then we headed for our destination la. quite fun. Shane decided to call us Stone. but then our camp special involved a squirrel, so we were called the stoning squirrels. and then alot of us had watched 300. So each time we saw another group nearby we would raise our bashas in the air and shout HAWHOO! like in the movie. haha. abit cheesy. but o well. whats hike without its usual nonsense. durign Hike 1, my group and I were pretending to be easing ourselves when we were actually drinking Root beer. lol. Soon we realised we were walking one whole round round LCK. And that russel was a natural born GPS. i mean he was the only one who didnt get lost and all turned to him for help. We stopped by at a bus stop to cook noodles with sausages and meat. quite food. and the primers had choc marshmallows and biscuits with Nutella and peanut butter. So fast forward to the dinner site. we were there like 45 mins early. so we went to complate 3 more checkpoints, which were quite hard as pacing was necessary and we could no longer use roads or landmarks as guides to tell us where we were. When we went back to the dinner site, which hadno lighting btw. i cooked again. there was tons of food, but we didnt get to eat primanda's soup. haha. no time. but we had some good fruit. SO we set off in the night with theses red glow sticks to show our position. So off we wnt on our hike again.we kept pressing on and overtook 3 groups, but in our haste we missed 2 checkpoints, so we had to go to the cemetry. argh. but then we crossed this very very very very long highway. and as usual, we were first at the sleeping point. we had to go to the buddhist and muslim cemetery. the worst thing about cemeteries is that there is absolutely no lighting. so it was like pitch bLACK. without torchlights, you couldnt see a fly land on your nose. i was quite scared. you dont know how relieved we were when we got out. So we went back to the sleeping area, we were still first, so we had no time limit. woohoo. but because beng teong left during dinner "my toe pain" so we had odd number and i had to wait for another group. then mr sim's group came, but because he was sleeping with them so they had even number and i had to wait. i ended up with jeremiah. abit blur. but a nice guy. we got our basha pitched. and then went to sleep. the sec 3's had to pitch and strike their tents until 230am. poor guys.
DAY 3: So next morn we woke up, had breakfast, had MILO (THANKS RUSSELL!) then went for QT. then we set off. to.. the cemetery. but in the dya, it looked peaceful and i felt better in there. though it was still abit uneasy for me. so we spent like 3 hours in the cemetry. the place had changed so much. around 1030am, there was a Cat 1, so we went to take shelter at the buddhist columbarium. where we ate in the carpark. biscuits and bread and bars .And our primers treated us to drinks. i got root beer. woohoo.. after our feast, we got our ponchos on and then we went on our way. after a while we took off the ponchos because they were so hot. i was the one who had the luck to tkae the straight road out of the columbarium, and from there our group pressed on with renewed vigour despite our injuries. for me, abrasions on my inner thigh and blisters on my foot. apparently one of them has hardened. and now is a permanent thingy. sigh. okay so we continued to go on and on. until we finalyl reached the end. we took a bus to Jurong Point for lunch, where we ate at macs. and then bought a bear for Primer Lua. So after that we rushed back to school. but then we got back and found the gate locked. i shall not disclose anymore of this. coz we kinda sneaked in. So we went to wash up and then got ready for Siesta, when beng teong came back. stupid slacker. hmmph. and while we were sleeping he still called us slacker. so we bathed at the sqaush courts (HOT WATER!). We slept til quite late. Coz of the comfortable air con from classroom. ahha. the davids lui and hu were trying to cook noodles on the corridors. gah. making a mess of it too. then we had dinner, then spent group time planning for our camp special. we had woship again, then slack time, and a fantastic supper. more MILO. RAMLY burgers! PIZZA! PEPSI! woot lor. so we all ate our fill, then the good news was that we were sleeping in the classrooms. Me and Jerm were in the same room .and i drank like 5 cups of milo. so i was getting high la. started with a joke then i started laughing like siao, then it spread alot of ppl also started. my bad. so most of us had a good rest. DAY 4: next morning, went to brush teeth, go for QT, had breakfast. bread and MILO. woot i think im addicted. Then we had drill. I couldnt finish the whole thing coz my corp shirt was trapping the heat in and i felt faint. so off to lunch. Nasi Lemak with Otah. Then we had the rather interesting camp special, for details view the pics) then we had a long worship. everyone was connected with God and we had an emotional time, everyone was kneeling, singing praises to him, praying for each other. i think it was the best worship i've been in. then we had to pack up our rooms, then we went to assemble at the space frame. actually it was an informal one. so yeah. people we like yay LDC is over, 3 cheers for LDC etc.
Overall it was a good expereience, next year ill get hell in LTC. haha and LDC II too.. sigh..
